Who is Martin Frank?

Martin Frank, PhD, FAPS, was born in Chicago.

He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois in Urbana in 1973.
He was an assistant professor in the Department of Physiology at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., from 1975 to 1978.
He served as executive secretary of the National Institutes of Health Physiology Study Section for seven years.
He was the APS Executive Director from 1985 to 2018.

The APS’ Minority Travel Fellowship Awards were renamed the Martin Frank Diversity Travel Awards in 2018.
