Who can apply: Postdoctoral fellow who is an APS member in good standing with a primary affiliation in the Respiration Section.

Award Description

The Respiration Section Outstanding Trainee Award recognizes an outstanding postdoctoral trainee who submitted their abstract to a Respiration Section topic category at the American Physiological Society’s (APS) annual meeting at Experimental Biology (EB). Candidates should be postdoctoral trainees who have made meritorious contributions to the area represented by the Respiration Section. Candidates will be judged on their publications, how the publications relate to the Respiration Section, evidence for future independence and promise (grant funding, peer review activities, etc.) and level of participation at the EB and other APS-related activities.

Eligibility
  • Postdoctoral trainee
  • Nominations from 2 APS Regular Members
  • APS Member with primary affiliation in the Respiration Section

 

Criteria

Applicants are required to submit the following:

  • Abstract Number
  • Abstract First Author’s Full Name
  • PDF of Abstract Submission
  • Curriculum Vitae.
  • Two nomination letters from APS members.

Other Requested (not required) Materials:

  • Three publication reprints.

Please note: that materials in excess (eg., inclusion of extra letters beyond 2 required letters or inclusion or curriculum vitae) will be excluded from evaluation.
