Award Description
The Respiration Section Outstanding Trainee Award recognizes an outstanding postdoctoral trainee who submitted their abstract to an American Physiological Society (APS) Respiration Section topic category at the American Physiology Summit. Candidates should be early -career who have made meritorious contributions to the areas represented by the Respiration Section. This award is made possible by our strategic partner ADInstruments.
Eligibility
The applicant must:
- be an APS member with primary affiliation in the Respiration Section; and
- be a postdoctoral trainee
Criteria
The application package includes:
- PDF of the abstract submission
- abstract number and abstract first author's full name,
- curriculum vitae, and
- two nomination letters.
Other Material:
- Up to three publication reprints
Applicants will be judged on their publications, how the publications relate to the interest of the Respiration Section, evidence for future independence and potential (e.g., grant funding, peer review activities)and level of participation at the American Physiology Summit and APS-related activities.

Award at a Glance
Award amount: $1,000 plus reimbursement of the early registration to fee to the American Physiology Summit and a complimentary ticket to the Respiration Section banquet.
