Award amount: $1,000, up to $2,000 for travel expense reimbursement and reimbursement of the early registration fee to the American Physiological Summit.

Award Description

Solomon Aaron Berson (1918-1972) was an American physician and scientist whose discoveries ensued in major advances in clinical biochemistry. This award is presented in his honor to a distinguished scientist for their outstanding contributions to the areas of endocrinology and metabolism physiology research.

The Berson lecturer presents a one hour lecture on a topic of their choice. The recipient is also expected to attend and participate in the Endocrinology and Metabolism Section Award ceremony on the same day as the Berson Lecture.

The applicant must:

  • be nominated by APS member in good standing

  • a nomination letter
