Members of the Sex and Gender Research Interest Group are part of an active community that is passionate about advancing our understanding of sex as a biological variable. This consideration is gaining more focus as investigators study animals of both sexes and clinicians research sex differences in health and disease. As a result, the scientific community is finding an increasing number of molecular, cellular and systems-based differences between males and females that affect normal physiology, responses to pathological conditions and responses to therapeutics. Join us in the discussion of how to promote the importance of better understanding the impact of sex and gender on physiology.
