Society Standing Committees

Maintains and updates the APS "Guiding Principles in the Care and Use of Animals," provides consultation regarding animal experimental procedures and care, and keeps abreast of legislation and new developments in animal models for student teaching and alternatives for animal usage.

Communications Specialist, communications firm, and appropriate committees to help identify media-appropriate elements of the Society’s journals, meetings, awards, and other activities to promote, works
with the Association of Chairs of Departments of Physiology to determine the best means of promoting physiology, develops methods for early identification of journal articles appropriate for promotion, utilizing reviewers and/or editors of APS journals, and reviews program on annual basis and provide recommendations to Council concerning continuance of contract with communications firm.
