Camera-ready Paper
This is paper that is specifically made to produce scanner-ready artwork.
These papers have a "hold out" added to them, such as clay, which provide a
smoother surface than regular laser printer paper. The "hold out" prevents
the ink from being completely absorbed by the fibers of the paper, which
results in sharper printing and higher quality scans.
Do not be tempted to use Premium Ink Jet paper through your laser
printer. It is made for a different kind of printing. Not only is the
high-gloss finish not made to withstand the heat of a laser printer, but it
is a "100% hold out". The laser Printer ink will not adhere to the fiber of
the paper and will eventually flake off, destroying the figures.
