Referrer-Based Toll-Free Links
A toll-free-link is a link that allows users to view your article for
free - without paying a pay-per-view fee or purchasing a society membership.
The link can be located on a web page of your choice. Users who click the
link will be taken directly to your article on the APS online journal site,
bypassing the pay-per-view/sign-in page. Users will be able to view the full
HTML version of your article, and view and download the PDF version, free of
charge.
To recieve a toll-free link, you must provide the full URL (web address)
of the specific page on which you want the link to appear. The link
will only work from this URL. If the link is placed on a different
page, it will still take users to your article, but readers will be
redirected to the pay-per-view/sign-in page before they are allowed to view
the article, just as though they had come to the article from any other
link.
