PDFs: Setting Job Options
Distiller Job Options
Authors can create and save APSCentral-specific "Job Options" in
Distiller. Using these settings, Authors will be able to produce PDF
documents that will be of sufficient quality for online review and of
manageable size for uploading to the APS Central Online Submission System.
These settings can be saved as a choice in the "Job Option" drop-down
menu. Authors who submit often should use this setting to create PDF
documents for submission to APS Central.
To Set APSCentral-specific Job Options:
- Open Acrobat Distiller
- Open the "Settings" drop-down menu and choose "Job Options".
- The "Job Options" Dialog Box contains five tabs:
General, Compression,
Fonts, Color and
Advanced. By using the following
settings for each tab, your resulting PDF file should be of high enough
quality for review and of acceptable size for uploading to the
APS Central system.
A. General
B. Compression
C. Fonts
D. Color
E. Advanced
- Save the settings by "clicking" the "Save As…" button. Name
your Job Options "APSCentral Submission" and choose "Save". These settings
should now appear in the "Job Options" drop-down menu:
