Editor's Message

The number of manuscripts submitted to the American Journal of Physiology: Renal Physiology continues to remain robust. This year, to date, submissions have increased by one percent. Our 2008 impact factor remains strong at 3.89, and is among the highest of the journals published by the American Physiological Society that present original work. This month we published two review articles that highlight areas of renal physiology pioneered by Steve Hebert, a former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal who passed away in 2008. Karl Nath joined the Journal in July as an Associate Editor. I wish to thank Susan Wall, who stepped in to serve as our editor-in-chief for several months while I was recuperating from an injury.

Thomas R. Kleyman
Editor-in-Chief
American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology
