  • FASEB Washington Update

HHMI awardees announced

As HHMI announced the newest class of awardees today, the Washington Post featured an article that framed the story in the context of dwindling NIH resources. This is the first class of awardees under the modified policy that allows researchers to apply for Hughes funding. Read the Washington Post story here: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/05/26/AR2008052602370.html?hpid=topnews&sub=AR and see the list and bios of the awardees here: http://www.hhmi.org/cgi-bin/inv2008/search.pl?kw=&ns=&is=&ls=&rs=&ss=&ks=&it=&sf=name&sd=1

FASEB Washington Update

The latest issue of the Washington Update from the FASEB OPA highlights science funding in the emergency war funding bill and the final actions on the Farm Bill. Congress is out of session this week for the Memorial Day recess, but will return next week to continue work on war funding and begin work on the FY 2009 spending bills.
