Congress passes the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA)

On Wednesday, April 30 the House of Representatives passed GINA on a vote of 414-1. This clears the way for the legislation to be signed into law by President Bush. Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) discusses the long process of getting this bill through Congress in the latest issue of Science.

NIH Issues RFI for Roadmap Ideas

NIH is looking for suggestions for new Roadmap/Common Fund projects. The Common Fund is intended for research initiatives that involve multiple institutes and could not be initiated within any one institute or center.
