Extramural Research addresses the upcoming conversion to electronic
grant submission, the recent National Academies Report on Women in

Slowing drug development
A report released in mid-December by the
Government Accountability Office showed that the rising amount of
money spent on research by the pharmaceutical industry has not
resulted in a commensurate increase in the number of new drugs
developed. While the reasons for this trend are many, a lack of
trained physician-scientists was cited.

Reducing the need for medical care
