AJP – Endocrinology & Metabolism invites investigators to contribute original research articles pertaining to the general areas of islet cell biology, regeneration, transplantation, stem cells, nutrient stimulation, and signal transduction. While it is anticipate that most papers will focus on insulin synthesis and secretion, manuscripts investigating other islet hormones are encouraged. Specifically, we are soliciting original high-quality manuscripts that address the integration of different levels of scientific analyses, including molecular/cellular, biochemical, genetic, physiologic, and pathophysiologic in the investigation of this general area. Studies using cell systems, animals and humans are all welcome for consideration; however, regardless of model system, each manuscript is expected to address mechanism of action at some level. All manuscripts accepted from this Call for Papers will be included in a unique online article collection, which will also include specially commissioned Review articles.
All manuscripts should be submitted online via eJournal Press. During the online submission process, under the “Keywords & Special Sections” tab, please use the “Category” drop-down menu and select “Call for Papers: Islet Biology.” All submitted manuscripts will undergo normal peer review as received and accepted manuscripts will be published online upon acceptance. Articles published from this Call for Papers will be highlighted with a special Call for Papers banner.
To be eligible for inclusion in this Call for Papers, manuscripts must be submitted prior to March 31, 2015.
Our aim for this Call for Papers is to attract the very best science, regardless of approach, and so we welcome your submissions. Please contact the Editor-in-Chief, Charles H. Lang, PhD (email@example.com) with any questions or concerns.
