Advances in Vestibular Research: A Tribute to Bernard Cohen, MD

Bernard Cohen has spent his career studying the vestibular system. His early papers on the motor consequences of stimulation of individual vestibular nerve branches provided the impetus for the development of vestibular prosthetics. His work has also offered insights into cerebellar influences on vestibular function, mechanisms of nystagmus, spatial orientation, the etiology of motion sickness, consequences of spaceflight on vestibular signal processing, recovery from vestibular system damage, and the circuitry that mediates vestibulo-autonomic responses. This call for manuscripts in tribute to Bernard Cohen is to highlight recent advances in vestibular research
