Call for Nominations for EIC of Physiological Reports

The American Physiological Society (APS) and The Physiological Society (TPS) invite nominations for the Editor-in-Chief of Physiological Reports to succeed the current (and founding) Editor-in-Chief, Professor Susan Wray, University of Liverpool, whose term will end December 31, 2017. Physiological Reports is an Open Access journal founded jointly by the societies in March 2013. The Journal is seeking an individual to build on the innovations achieved by the Editors and Societies in this successful and unique community collaboration, publishing research across areas of basic, translational, and clinical physiology and allied disciplines. The Editor-in-Chief receives excellent staff support from the societies and from the Journal’s publisher, John Wiley & Sons.

Currently, the Editor-in-Chief works closely with a Deputy Editor-in-Chief and five Associate Editors who are nominated by the Editor-in-Chief and appointed by the Joint Managing Board composed of the leadership of both societies. An Editorial Board of 100+ is available for reviewing manuscripts. The Journal accepts de novo original research submissions, reviews and case reports as well as manuscripts recommended by the editors of both societies’ sister journals and transferred by the authors.  The societies forward the reviews for manuscripts transferred by authors, which maximizes valuable reviewer resource, avoiding duplication of effort. The Journal has grown steadily since its launch in 2013 and de novo and transferred submissions are healthy and growing. Full information on Physiological Reports can be found here.

Applications  should be received by March 17, 2017.

The Joint Managing Board of Physiological Reports will interview candidates in the spring of 2017.

Nominations, accompanied by a curriculum vitae, should be sent to the Chair of the Joint Managing Board of the Journal via regular mail:
