Goal of the Section: To facilitate presentation and discussion of original research at molecular, cellular, whole organ and animal levels to understand basic pathophysiological mechanisms of respiratory disorders, especially at the National APS meeting in the Spring of each year. To provide constructive feedback to Journal of Applied Physiology and AJP-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology journal editors regarding the quality and directions or the respiration-related published science work in those journals. The goals of the section are to facilitate the development of young investigators in respiration and physiology, especially by encouraging attendance and participation at the annual meeting.
