Mission Statement:  The Oklahoma Society of Physiologists is an organization of scientists, educators, and students in the State of Oklahoma dedicated to promoting research and education in the physiological sciences at all levels. The Oklahoma Society of Physiologists has chapter status with the American Physiological Society. This greatly enhances the ability of the society to play an active role in community education of the physiological sciences. Through the efforts of its members, the Oklahoma Society of Physiologists will continue to foster professional collaboration among Oklahoma institutions and high schools in order to meet the contemporary challenges confronting scientists and educators of physiology.

Title: Trends in Undergraduate Education and Preparation for Medical School

The Oklahoma Society of Physiologists (OSP) will hold their 32nd annual meeting at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences (OSU-CHS) in Tulsa on November 8, 2013. The meeting will feature two outstanding speakers with expertise in undergraduate education in life sciences. Pre-health advisors at all undergraduate institutions in Oklahoma will be invited to the meeting and will enjoy a lunch and tour of the medical school. The primary goal of the conference is to enhance communication among faculty, students, administrators, and program directors at the state medical schools and undergraduate universities.
