Basic Presentation Skills Workshop Deadline Extended

NEW - Short Courses on Basic Presentation Skills

Dates:
January 18-21, 2007 � Orlando, FL
March 8-11, 2007 � Bethesda, MD


Application Deadline (for either course) � EXTENDED to Friday, Nov. 3

Do you want to...?
� Improve your skills at introducing yourself to colleagues, faculty members, chairs?
� Learn how to write a better meeting abstract?
� Know how to write a great poster?
� Learn what constitutes an effective poster design?
� Learn how to present your poster to different types of audiences?
� Discover how diversity issues may influence your presentation skills?
� Learn about resources that can further develop your presentation skills?
If so, then you'll want to apply for one of the APS's Short Course on Basic Presentation Skills.

Who can apply?
� Lower level graduate students (within first 1-3 years of graduate training)
� Applicants must be US citizens or permanent US residents
� Minority students active in APS, ASM, or SDB will be given priority.

What is the cost?
Thanks to support from NIGMS/NIH, accepted students will receive FREE:
� Registration and materials
� Travel support (roundtrip budget airfare or mileage)
� Subsistence (hotel-double occupancy, food per diem, and ground transportation)
