If you are a graduate
student, postdoctoral fellow, or new investigator and are interested in
serving on the Trainee Advisory Committee, the process is different than
for other committees.
1. You must be a member
of APS (student or regular, if new investigator)
2. You must belong to an
APS section. You can find out what section you belong to or you can sign
up for a section by going to the
Members only
site.
3. Find out when your
section representative is due to rotate off the Committee by checking the
Committee
member list.
4. Find out who the
Chair of your section is by going to the appropriate
section page and selecting
Steering Committee.
5. Contact your section
Chair and let him/her know you are interested in serving on the Trainee
Advisory Committee. When your section representative is due to rotate off,
you will be considered for the vacancy on the Committee.
How to Serve on Other Committees
The following committees have student members:
Animal Care and Experimentation Committee
Membership Committee
Women in Physiology Committee
If you are a student member
and want to apply to serve as the student member on these committees, you
need to fill out an
application. Applications are due in January.
If you are a regular
member, you are eligible to be on most committees and can fill out an
application to
be on whichever one sounds most interesting to you. Applications are due in
January.
