APS Early Career Advocacy Fellowship Application Information

Who can apply?

Applicants must:

  • Be members in good standing of the American Physiological Society
  • Have received their doctoral degree within the previous ten years
  • Have excellent communication skills and an interest in advocacy
  • Attend EB 2013 in Boston, MA.
  • Be a U.S. citizen

How do I apply?

Applicants complete an online application form.

How will participants be selected?

Complete applications will be reviewed by the APS Science Policy Committee. Awardees will be selected based on expressed interest; ideas for incorporating advocacy into future professional activities; and letters of recommendation.

Deadlines:

Complete applications are due by November 16, 2012.

Awardees will be announced by February 1, 2013.

Application packet should include:

  • Resume/CV
  • One-page letter of intent including why you are applying for this program; how you envision incorporating advocacy into your future professional activities; and any previous experience with advocacy activities.
  • Two letters of support. The letter writers should be familiar with your interest in advocacy and outreach and able to attest to your communication skills.
