Donald W. Michielli
Donald W. Michielli received his BS degree in Physical Education from Springfield College and continued on to Ohio State University to earn a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology in 1965. Prior to entering graduate school Michielli served in Korea with the US Army from 1957-1959. After receiving his doctorate, Michielli accepted a position at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY where he was an associate professor in the department of health sciences from 1966-1971. In 1971, he became a professor in the department of kinesiology as at Brooklyn College, The City University of New York. In 2012, Michielli became an emeritus professor of kinesiology. His research has focused on exercise physiology with an emphasis on exercise and cardiovascular risk reduction. Donald Michielli has been a member of the American Physiological Society since 1997 and has been active in a number of other associations.
