Professional Development Awards
APS sponsors or provides several professional development fellowships, including Professional Skills Training Fellowships for live and online courses and the AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellowship (see links below).

In addition, APS recognizes the importance of professional service through the Dale J. Benos Early Career Professional Service Award (see link at left).

Dale J. Benos Early Career Service Award

This Award honors an early career stage (graduate student, post-doctoral fellow, Assistant Professor or equivalent position) member of the American Physiological Society.

Professional Skills Training

This project promotes the development of key professional skills among trainees by creating effective live and online interactive courses that are appropriate for students in any life science discipline.

AAAS Mass Media Fellowship

Award for an individual to spend a summer working in the newsroom of a newspaper, magazine, or radio or television station.
