Faculty Awards/Fellowships

APS and its 12 Sections sponsor numerous awards for members, including awards for excellence in research, teaching, mentoring, and professional development.

APS provides awards for travel to scientific meetings for some groups of physiology educators (see Minority Travel Awards below).

Physiology Education Community of Practice (PECOP) Fellowship

PECOP Fellows are undergraduate physiology educators who: interact, share resources, and collaborate on an ongoing basis; learn and apply effective scientific teaching methods in their classrooms, such as student-centered learning emphasized in Vision and Change; and use scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL) methodologies to improve their teaching.

Martin Frank Diversity Travel Awards

These awards provide travel fellowships to underrepresented graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and early career faculty members to attend APS meetings and conferences.
