Vision and Change Initiative
APS' Response to the Vision and Change Report
Promoting Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching and Research

Six major areas were identified where scientific professional societies could contribute to the overall Vision & Change initiative (see below for link to report).

APS is proud to announce that we  have adopted five of these six areas as primary targets for Society activities to promote both the visibility and status of undergraduate (UG) education within the Society and in our education programs.

The five target areas are:
  • Raise the visibility and importance of teaching among researchers in the field
  • Increase UG student affiliation with, and understanding of, the field
  • Prepare faculty to teach the 21st century curriculum
  • Provide online resources for curriculum and professional development
  • Promote collaboration among stakeholders
APS efforts and activities (see below) impact students, educators, and organizations. They are ongoing and will continue to impact UG education in the future. New initiatives are forthcoming and will be announced when available.
