Healthy Heart Experiment I: What Does the Heart Do?

This is an online simulation to allow children to do a simple physiology experiment on heart function. Children gather data as Sam the Dog rests, walks, and runs to learn how the heart helps him to exercise and play.

Healthy Heart Experiment II: Does What We Eat Matter to Our Hearts?

Children use straws and coffee stirrers to compare how fluids flow in open and partially blocked blood vessels. Student findings are added to a common online data pool. Phizzy the Physiology Bear leads children through this one-variable experiment and physiologists explain (written and audio) what their experimental results mean. Links to healthy food choices are included.
