Who can apply?
- Applicants must be current or past APS Minority Travel Fellows or Porter Physiology Development Fellows
- Upper level graduate students (have passed preliminary exams or finished coursework) AND postdoctoral fellows
- Applicants must be conducting research within the 50 States and U.S. Territories
- Awardees must already be student or regular members of the APS or must be willing to join.

How will participants be selected?
Complete applications will be reviewed by the Porter Physiology Development Committee and past Frontiers in Physiology Research Teachers. Awardees will be selected based on their expressed interest, outreach ideas, and recommendations. Participants also will be selected to reflect a diversity of racial/ethnic groups and research areas in physiology. Fellowships awarded are contingent on the availability of grant funds.
Deadlines:
Complete applications are due December 30.
Awardees will be announced by February 1.
Application packet should include:
- Completed profile
- Curriculum vitae/biographical sketch (Biography I)
- Personal statement regarding expressed interest in outreach, outreach experiences and ideas, and your physiology research expertise (Biography II)
- Letter of support from research advisor
