» Teacher Professional Development

APS offers teacher professional development through fellowship programs, workshops, and webinars. Fellowship programs include the Frontiers in Physiology Teacher Fellowships and Archive Scholars Teacher Fellowships programs. Workshops are offered at Experimental Biology (the APS annual meeting), and at national and regional teacher meetings (such as National Association of Biology Teachers, National Science Teachers Association, National Middle School Association, and Human Anatomy and Physiology Society). APS records many of its workshop presentations and offers them to teachers and the broader public as webinars.

Physiology for Life Science Teachers & Students This annual full-day workshop for area high school teachers and students is held in conjunction with the Experimental Biology meeting. There is no charge but registration is required.

Frontiers in Physiology is the American Physiological Society’s (APS) flagship program for the professional development of middle and high school science teachers. Its fellowships include research experiences, summer institutes, travel to scientific meetings, and online professional development activities.

The Archive Scholars Online Workshop is designed to help faculty and teachers become both proficient digital library users and contributors to the APS Archive of Teaching Resources Community of Practice.
