The following information is provided as a general guideline; BE SURE TO READ THE SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR THE CURRENT YEAR APPLICATION.
Who Should Apply
Middle and high school science teachers (grades 6-12) from all science disciplines with a minimum of one full year of teaching experience and currently teaching in a U.S. school at the time of application are eligible. Applicants should:
- be open to examining and modifying their teaching to incorporate more inquiry, to address equity issues, and to integrate the Internet in your classroom
- have a commitment to excellence in science teaching and a desire to learn new teaching methods
- have a desire to learn about research first-hand
- have a willingness to share resources and experiences with their colleagues.
Teachers who are members of minority groups underrepresented in science (e.g., African –American, Hispanic, Native American, and Pacific Islander) or who teach in schools with a predominance of underrepresented minority students are especially encouraged to apply.
