Frontiers in Physiology has multiple programs that focus on different aspects of science teacher professional development at.

Research Teacher (RT) Fellowships include a summer research experience in an APS member’s laboratory, a year-long online virtual learning community, and attendance at the APS annual meeting. Some fellowships also include an intensive summer workshop experience with the APS. Fellows receive a stipend for their work.

Online Teacher (OT) Fellows participate in a dynamic and interactive virtual learning community that focuses on exploring effective teaching strategies, understanding the research process, and enhancing classroom materials. Some fellowships also include attendance at the APS annual meeting. Fellows receive a stipend for their work.

Leadership Fellows are past RT and OT Fellows who are invited to serve as teacher mentors for new RTs and OTs. They work closely with the APS Education Office to assist in the programs and to grow in their own professional development as local and national leaders in science education. Fellows receive a stipend for their work.
