Archive Scholars Fellowship

The Archive Scholars Program for High School Biology Educators is an 8-week Online Program designed to help educators become proficient in using a digital library to find classroom resources. Additionally, educators will learn how to share and receive feedback on classroom resources and ideas by contributing to a digital library and engaging in an online community. At the end of this course, educators will be named “Archive Scholars” and will be able to:

  1. Describe what digital libraries are, what they offer, and how to identify the characteristics of a digital library collection
  2. Demonstrate increased proficiency in using digital libraries to find needed resources
  3. Demonstrate proficiency and confidence in rating and sharing digital library resources with colleagues and students using the Archive, Facebook, and other online tools
  4. Demonstrate proficiency and confidence in rating digital library resources
  5. Submit a self-created resource to the Archive
  6. Create a Teacher-Recommended Collection that describes your use of a collection of online Archive resources
  7. Create a Six Star Science Collection that highlights the scholarship of teaching and learning by including all Six Star Science components
  8. Identify further opportunities to use digital library skills in other projects and programs
  9. Make at least one suggestion for building or improving the Archive community
