Live courses include online pre-course lessons and discussions as well as a live workshop with experienced physiologists. Students submit their own work and receive feedback from both the instructor and peers.

Interactive exercises, brief presentations and informal discussions provide opportunities to not only learn the course materials but build a network of junior and senior colleagues.

PST Course on Becoming an Effective Teacher

This professional development course is designed for upper level graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and early career faculty who want to develop their teaching skills. Pre- and post-workshop assignments will be required, as well as those that are part of the in-person course. As part of the course, students will develop a micro-teach demonstrating their understanding of effective teaching.

PST Course on Writing and Reviewing for Scientific Journals

The APS Professional Skills Training (PST) Course on Writing and Reviewing for Scientific Journals is designed for upper level graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and any researcher who wants to hone his/her manuscript writing skills. As part of the course, students share their first draft manuscript with a small working group that includes peers and an instructor with publication experience.
