Publishing the results of your research is vital to a successful career in academia or industry. Based on the outcome of the Trainee Advisory Committee (TAC) Survey, as well as the Professional Skills Document, the TAC has identified that there is a need for trainees to obtain information about the peer review process in order to maximize the success of publishing in scientific journals. Therefore, we have organized a career development session that will elucidate the peer review process and provide effective tools to be able to write, review, and publish high quality scientific manuscripts. Experienced speakers will discuss: 1) how to select a journal; 2) who the reviewers are and what they look for; 3) how to effectively respond to reviewers; and 4) how to be a constructive reviewer.
