He is remembered with deep affection by his devoted wife, Jane, of 57 years, his daughter, Dr. Stephanie Green, and her husband, Dr. Stephen Green, and his son, Richard Jaffé, and his wife, Gerry, and his four grandchildren Andrew and Christopher Green and Courtland and Caroline Jaffé. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, a long time resident of Tenafly, NJ, and, more recently, a resident of Port Washington, NY.  Alma maters included Francis W. At Albert Einstein College of Medicine, his career as a hematologist was established. He was active in many academic societies and served as a member of the Board of the American Red Cross. Funeral services were private. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to The Ernst R. Jaffé Scholarship Fund, Office of Institutional Advancement, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, 1300 Morris Park Avenue, Bronx, New York 10461.
