The deadline for the submission of abstracts is April 3, 2009.
Registration Deadlines and Fees
The registration fee includes entry into all scientific sessions, opening reception, poster sessions and socials. Register early and save! The advance registration deadline is June 12, 2009.
Advance Registration
To register in advance, please choose from one of the three registration methods below. Once your registration has been received by the APS office, it will be processed and entered into the registration system.
Badges and receipts will be mailed to advance domestic registrants before the meeting. If you did not receive or lost your meeting badge prior to the meeting, please come to the registration desk for a replacement. Foreign registrants may pick up their meeting badge, receipt, and other meeting materials at the registration desk.

The American Physiological Society accepts the following major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express for registration payment. The American Physiological Society also accepts both personal and institute checks. All checks must be made out in US Dollars, drawn from a US bank and made payable to The American Physiological Society. Please make sure that the check accompanies a completed registration form to avoid processing delays. Please note that the American Physiological Society does not accept purchase orders for registration payments. Please use a credit card or check.
APS Career Session
This special session entitled: Writing Your First Paper: The “Ins” and “Outs” of Authorship will be presented by Dr. Magdalena Alonso-Galicia, a member of the APS Career Opportunities in Physiology Committee.
Discuss with Dr. Alonso-Galicia the criteria for authorship and various roles authors can play during the research process and preparation and publication of a manuscript. Through case studies, explore real-life scenarios and how best to deal with the various issues that can arise with authorship.
Students and Postdoctoral Fellows are encouraged to join Dr. Alonso-Galicia for this special session on important factors in making the next step in your research career. Gain valuable insights and guides on how to make the most of your career in physiology and have the opportunity to ask questions to a seasoned researcher. Program/Abstract Volume
All abstracts submitted for this meeting will be bound with the official program and handed out onsite. These abstracts are considered in press of The Physiologist. They will appear in the December 2009 issue and should be cited as "program number [#], in press". All registrants should come to the onsite Registration Desk to receive a copy of the program. You must show your registration badge to obtain a program.
Continuing Medical Education (CME)
This meeting will not be offering Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.

Program Objective
The global objective of the conference is to gather a critical mass of scientists who have interests and expertise in the roles of sex steroids in the physiology of the cardiovascular and renal systems to promote exchange of ideas and foster future collaborations. In addition, we expect that the conference will further increase awareness for the importance of sex steroids in cardiovascular and renal diseases (CVRD).
