In Vitro Muscle Contraction

Students explore muscle contraction using samples of live skeletal muscle. After determining the solution(s) needed for muscle contraction and calculating the percent contraction of a muscle fiber, students design and perform an experiment to test factors that can affect percent muscle contraction. Process skills are developed as students analyze their data and present their results.
