APS Archive of Teaching Resources Addressing the Changing Needs of Graduate and Professional Educators The APS Archive of Teaching Resources (http://www.apsarchive.org) was designed to be a colleague-to-colleague sharing site where APS members and others can submit learning objects they have developed to enhance their own teaching. The Archive is a searchable database that anyone can use to located materials on a particular topic or of a particular type. A bulletin board is attached to each submission and will contain any comments users may want to attach as well as a usefulness rating. In addition, links are provided from all graduate/professional material to the relevant Medical Objective(s). What will I find here? In the Archive you will not only find labs, lessons, graphics, animations, and web sites that can enhance the content in your courses, but you will also be challenged to examine how you teach, with suggested offerings both in the “Explore Effective Pedagogy” section and linked to the learning objects you view. Added Features New in 2005 for the Archive is “My Archive,” a set of valuable user features. These features will allow you to save search parameters for different searches and save items found from searches into personal folders. In addition, you can email items of interest found from searches to colleagues. You can ask to be notified when anything new is added into the APS Archive or just when new materials that match specific search parameters are accepted. A guided tutorial on how to use My Archive is available on the APS Archive site. |
