In-House Remediation

The following institutions offer in-house remediation courses or independent study

Formal Courses
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine
Physiology Core Remediation consists of the lectures from the Physiology Core Course presented on white board by the Physiology Course Director over a two-week period with exams after each week. If there are <3 students, exams may be oral, otherwise they will be multiple choice. In future years remediation will be the same for the Independent Study Pathway Physiology Core Course.

We have both. The formal summer course is the same as the regular course but accelerated and has no labs.

We have both. It depends on the student's deficiency.

The re-evaluation consists of a comprehensive examination administered in two parts over a 3-week period. The student is responsible for their study and preparation. Faculty are available for individual assistance if requested.

Students have the option - at the discretion of the Academic Progress Committee - to remediate failures during the summer between the 1st and 2nd year, assuming that they have not failed a second course.  If the student fails more than one course, they either repeat the entire 1st year or are terminated.  Summer remediation is self-study.  There are no additional lectures or formal instruction; however, the faculty are available for assistance upon request of the student.
