 Local Site Team Goals
  • Introduce junior high and high school science teachers and administrators to inquiry methods for science education.
  • Establish a network of teachers who desire success for their students and are willing to share “Best” practices with each other. 
  • Recruit one or two teachers into the American Physiological Societies Frontiers in Physiology program.
  • Promote equity modalities and pedagogies in the K-12 science classroom.
  • Introduce and encourage interactions between faculty from Higher Education with the K - 12 science teachers.
  • Present professional development workshops that offer modeling of inquiry and equity methodologies; specifically those introduced by the APS and Project WISE resources.
  • Empower science teachers with the confidence and means to “seed” inquiry methods in their classrooms.
  • Establish a network of resources for teachers from the Kentuckiana area (central Kentucky and southern Indiana).
 LST Target Audience

The Louisville / Kentuckiana LST has targeted an audience which focuses on Science Teachers, Administrators or Teachers in training at Middle Schools, Junior High Schools and High Schools located in the Southern Indiana and Central Kentucky Regions. In addition, we will not bar any application from Elementary Science Teachers from these same geographic locations who wish to participate.
