Keynote Address Why Fat is Good: The Physiological Consequences of Obesity in Mammalian Hibernators![]()
Gregory L. Florant, Ph.D.
Professor, Dept of Biology Colorado State University Fort Collins, CO Dr. Florant studies yellow-bellied marmots, the largest North American rodent hibernator, and the mechanisms they use to regulate energy stores. Dr. Florant investigates how these animals get fat and use that fat to survive under harsh conditions. In this lively presentation, Dr. Florant discusses how research can help us understand obesity in humans. | |||||||||
