As part of its extensive outreach programs, the APS coordinates workshops for science educators within the geographical area of the Experimental Biology meeting. This year, Experimental Biology convenes in San Francisco, CA. | ||||||||||||

Workshop! |
This is a FREE workshop. There is no registration fee, although pre-registration is required. A free boxed lunch and drink will be provided for each teacher and student attending. Attendees are responsible for transportation costs they may incur, including parking in the hotel area. | ||||||||||||

Registration is limited. Participants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. You can register by fax or online. Print out the Registration Form (.pdf) and fax to 301-634-7098. Registration deadline is March 15, 2006. | ||||||||||||

At the K-12 level, activities focus on building professional networks between research scientists and classroom teachers. The APS Education Office distributes various education resources including brochures, books, videos, and CD-ROM. Plans are now being formalized for the spacecraft designs that will ultimately take humans to the planet Mars in the next 25 years. Dr. Pawelczyk, an established NASA life scientist and former payload specialist astronaut, will ask the question whether or not human biology will limit our ability to travel through the solar system. | ||||||||||||
