4th Annual Meeting
of the Midwest Physiological Societies
June 7-8, 1999
Madison Wisconsin
Symposium Attendees
It is our pleasure to invite you to the Fourth Annual Meeting of the
Midwest Physiological Societies on Monday and Tuesday, June 7th and 8th,
1999! We hope that you, your colleagues, and your students will have a
stimulating time at the meeting, and find time to enjoy the many sights and
attractions of Madison and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
The purpose of this meeting is to promote interactions among Midwest
physiologists in an informal setting that will encourage scientific
exchange. Another important purpose of the meeting is to provide a research
forum for young investigators. We especially extend an invitation to
undergraduate students to participate in the meeting. This year's meeting
will focus on three main themes: cardiac muscle, cardiopulmonary regulation
and systemic and integrative physiology. The Symposium will feature three
keynote speakers, Drs. Marc Kaufman, James Skatrud, and John Solaro.
Presentations and discussions will encompass the molecular, cell, organ,
and whole animal levels. There will be three half-day sessions, each led by
a key-note speaker followed by traditional 15 minute oral free
communications. In addition, a poster session will be held on the first day
of the symposium. After the meeting, in the afternoon, a golf outing is
planned for those wishing to participate.
