ENERGY METABOLISM: Description:
A full-time post-doctoral position is
available to work on funded research examining the effects of diet
interventions on human energy metabolism in obesity. Our laboratory
utilizes a bench-to-bedside approach to tackle the complex problems
arising from a sedentary lifestyle in today’s modern world. You will
have the opportunity to develop skills and training in translational
research at the whole body, cellular, and molecular level. The research
environment at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute and Case
Western Reserve University School of Medicine offers outstanding
opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and training.
Qualifications: Ph.D. is required. Preference will be given to
applicants with a background in Nutrition, Physiology, Biochemistry,
Metabolism, Exercise Physiology, or a related area of science. Relevant
experience in human metabolic research, stable isotope procedures, and
good writing skills is desirable. Responsibilities: Participation
in all aspects of research including data collection using the
euglycemic clamp procedure, indirect calorimetry, substrate utilization,
isotope tracer methodologies, body composition, CT and MR scanning,
lifestyle interventions, and subject recruitment. The successful

Postdoctoral Fellow Positions Available:
Kidney and Cardiovascular Disease: The Department of Pharmacology at the
University of Mississippi Medical Center seeks to recruit two
postdoctoral research fellows interested in; 1) the role of eicosanoids
and TGF-β in the pathogenesis of hypertension and chronic kidney disease
and, 2) the genetic basis of the myogenic response and the role of
impaired blood flow regulation in the development of renal and cerebral
