Management
of Projects and Grants
Managing projects and grants is a specialized skill in which you will want
to get training.
The APS
and the Association of Chairs of
Departments of Physiology recommend that trainees understand the
importance of and work to develop the following project and grant
management skills:

Knowledge and adherence to
professional societies' codes of ethics |

Understanding of importance of
ensuring integrity of own publications and communications |
|
c. |
Ability to navigate complex
bureaucratic environments |

d. |
Skills in time management (assigning
priorities and delegating) |

Ability to develop and implement a
budget |

Ability to manage a team |
|
g. |
Knowledge of how to create a
cooperative work environment |
