Your permanent position
Now that you’ve gotten a permanent position, you have a new set of concerns. You need to know how to attract graduate students, network more effectively, and possibly deal with the stresses of having a family.

Developing your skills
There are many skills you will need to acquire to be successful in your new position. These range from setting up a lab to hiring and training technicians/postdocs to utilizing technology in your classroom.

Career planning
At what point should you begin thinking about tenure or a promotion? Have you chosen the right position for your career goals? Have you thought about your future career?

Being Mentored and Mentoring
Having a mentor (not necessary your former postdoctoral advisor) whom you trust for advice and counsel is very important at all stages of your career. How do you find a mentor? What can/should you discuss with your mentor?
